The Venice Open is played on the beautiful courses of Galzignano Golf, Golf della Montecchia and Golf Frassanelle .
The golf courses are united under a single management (Play 54) to offer more and better services to golf enthusiasts. Although each boasts its own distinctive characteristics, they all bear the mark of a singular design and offer exciting challenges to golfers of all levels. PlayGolf54 is just “A short drive from Venice” and other charming art cities of Northern Italy.
The three courses are about 15/20 minutes away from one another and just a few kms from Padua, a dynamic and vivacious city located between Verona and Venice.
Galzignano Golf
The course of Golf Galzignano is designed by architect Marco Croze and was opened in 1999.
The Golf Course Galzignano represents the fourth course situated against the enchanting
backdrop of the Colli Euganei. Our 9-hole course which is 2,048m long boasts an exclusive design enriched by water hazards and small lakes for a challenging and exciting course.
Golf della Montecchia
The 27-hole course, which was designed by the golf course architect Tom McAuley, was realized on land belonging to the noble Emo Capodilista family from Venice. Considered one of the “Leading golf courses of Europe”, it is frequented by an international clientele and was chosen to host the AlpsTour twice and the Challenge Tour Tournament four times. The facility offers a large driving range and more than 20 covered stalls and it is lit for evening golf. It is also boasts a unique Performance Centre with ultimate high-tech equipment for athletic workouts and golf indoor and the teaching pros at the Montecchia Golf Academy have a background of exceptional golfing accomplishments and are pioneers in Italy in using the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) modality which is based on proven technologies and training methods such as Track Man and Sam Putt.
Constructed out of an old barn where tobacco was once dried, the large club house hosts a snack bar and restaurant, plus various wide and charming rooms for conferences, events, meetings, and banquets; on the outside, there is a large swimming pool with solarium and sauna.
The golf course is frequently visited by technicians from all over the world because of its bermudagrass lawn which, thanks to its particular characteristics (this creeping turfgrass needs little water and requires no chemical products) has been awarded the national “GEO” environmental certification.
Golf Frasssnelle
This beautiful 18-hole golf course , built in 1990 by Marco Croze in a wonderful nineteenth century park over 200 hectares , presents considerable suggestions and is rich in fauna and flora .
The playing field is surrounded by the unique landscape of the Euganean Hills and it is just a few kilometres from the renowned Thermal Spas of Abano and Montegrotto
Large open spaces, woods and numerous stretches of water scattered along the course embellish the landscape and make the game more challenging. Hole 15 is unforgettable , a par 3 of 150 metres which crosses the large lake with the green enclosed in a majestic setting of trees
In 2018, Gold della Montecchia has also been ackonowledged the prestigious “IAGTO Sustainability Award for Community Value” for its committment towards the complete organic management of its Green Course.
